Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Application Programmer II supporting the IT program at a major national laboratory.

 

To produce and maintain these IT solutions, the support resources shall be proficient in the following areas: custom computer programming, commercial-off-the-shelf application configuration and customization, report development, dev-ops, scripting, and testing. These enterprise solutions are critical to enabling the customers' business and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will be analyzing, designing, developing, and deploying innovative software solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Candidate will have knowledge in software engineering and the ability to work across the full stack of web development technologies.
  • Effective collaboration with all levels of internal personnel, including building successful working relationships, outstanding customer service, and strong technical leadership abilities is key to this role
  • Analyze design, develop, and deploy full-stack .NET web applications supporting our customers.
  • Support existing applications using a variety of legacy technologies (primarily .NET) and modernize these applications.
  • Develop technological improvements to our team’s toolchain (for example, our CI/CD pipeline, infrastructure APIs, testing framework, or our microservice deployment platform).
  • Collaborate with team members to investigate, plan, gather requirements, design, develop, test, document, analyze problems, and support software systems and applications.
  • Support the design of software tools and subsystems that support reuse and domain analysis
  • Assisting Applications Engineers and Programmers in interpreting software requirements and design specifications, coding, integrating, and testing software components to ensure they meet project objectives.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications across various areas, including finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts.
  • Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts, translating detailed designs into computer software, testing, debugging, and refining software to produce high-quality products.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation and enhance software to improve efficiency while providing technical direction to programmers to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Experience in information system design, including application programming on large-scale database management systems and the development of complex software to satisfy design objectives.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in relevant discipline plus minimum 5 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a DOE Q clearance
  • The successful candidate need to reside in the Albuquerque area as onsite work is required

Required Skills:

  • Experience with full-stack web development
  • Experience developing in .NET (C#), MS SQL, Angular
  • Experience with relational database design and usage
  • Experience agile development
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies

Rotation is required every 3 weeks from 8-11AM, Monday through Thursday.
