Cloud Computing Engineer

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Cloud Computing Engineer at a major National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM.  The department leads the development, implementation, and management of world-class Enterprise Cloud Platforms and Services while providing IT transformation leadership with Cloud-Native practices.

The ideal candidate will provide network design, development, and automation, with expertise in routing protocols and traffic engineering solutions.  You’ll be responsible for gathering requirements, developing innovative solutions, prototyping in various environments, and leading critical troubleshooting efforts.  This high-visibility position offers excellent opportunities for technical and career growth within our cloud environment.  

• Gather requirements and develop innovative solutions for Wide Area Networks (WAN)
• Protype solutions in physical and emulated environments.
• Resolve live site issues by troubleshooting complex network components.
• Lead customer-facing and critical troubleshooting efforts.
• Write drivers and abstraction layer for deploying new routing features.
• Develop new ideas for network systems and tools.
• Take ideas from design to production with end-to-end ownership.

Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as onsite work will be required.  Hybrid work schedule is available.

• BS in Computer Science (or related field) plus 4 years job-related experience or an Associate’s degree in related field plus 7 years’ experience
• In lieu of a degree, a total of 10 years of experience may be applicable.
• U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy “Q” Clearance.

• Experience with routing protocols (ISIS,BGP, MPLS technologies)
• Experience with traffic engineering solutions
• Professional software development experience in networking domain.

Desired:

• CCNA/CCNP certifications preferred.
