Application Support Technician

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking an ONSITE Application Support Technician to provide support to the Department of Energy’s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) contract located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  You will be working closely with the Application Development team, Customers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and other contractors & vendors to support existing and future Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) application systems.

• Work with our business analysts and customer to gather application requirements.
• Install & manage new software installations.
• Learn and support existing software installations.
• Perform vulnerability and patch management for responsible software applications.
• Maintain relevant documentation and Enterprise Architecture software inventory documentation.
• Perform software quality assurance processes and procedures.

• US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
• RESIDE NEAR CARLSBAD, NEW MEXICO OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 badge.
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent, and at least three years of relevant experience in Information Technology.  Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have strong problem solving skills.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be well organized, a good communicator, able to effectively prioritize tasks, and manage your projects from concept to production.
• Must be motivated, independent, and self-sufficient.
• Able to receive an assigned task and see it through to completion with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with these technologies:
  • Windows 10 & Windows Server
  • SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)

     

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with these software platforms:
  • DevonWay
  • CHAMPS
  • Primavera P6
  • SharePoint (both on-premise and cloud)
• Familiarity with managing and maintaining Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Technical Support or similar experience is a plus.
• Experience working with vendors to implement software at Enterprise scale is a plus.
• Software development, QA, and Testing is a plus.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00
