Senior End User Support Specialist

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior End User Support Specialist to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.

• Provide both classified and unclassified RedHat Linux support to our customer base.
• Translate technical terms into layperson terms and present them to audiences outside of the organization. 

• A.A. in Computer Science and 4 years of experience
• In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable.
• U.S. Citizenship is required per contract.
• Must have an Active DOE Q clearance or DOD TS and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance with SCI. Must be willing to take and pass a polygraph if randomly selected.

• Experience with Linux system administration, preferably RedHat

• Understand enterprise network services like DNS, NTP, DHCP, databases, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers, and distributed storage systems

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment

• Ability to learn new IT system technologies

Desired:

• DoD Top Secret with Reciprocity and an active SCI
• Experience with scripting languages
• Experience with deploying and administering servers in a high security production environment
• Ability to work closely with researchers to identify needs/expectations and articulate action items and responsibilities
• An in-depth knowledge of Linux
• Have the ability to thrive in a teaming environment
• Understanding of Systems Engineering disciplines particularly Requirements Management and Configuration Management
• An understanding of Cloud Computing such as VMware, Open Stack and KVM/Proxmox
• The ability to research and propose technical solutions which satisfy requirements
• An in-depth knowledge of network devices like switches, routers, VPNs, and firewall devices
• Experience with and the ability to utilize collaboration tools like Wikis, Mattermost, Jira & GitLab
• Experience with process improvement activities and full life cycle development processes such as Agile, Lean 6, ISO, CMMi, or ITIL
• Experience in working with Project management professionals preferably of large, complex, or interdependent projects
