Linux Systems Architect II

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Linux Systems Architect II to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.

• Responsible for Architecting our Linux Server environment. The lab primarily runs RedHat and utilizes Ansible for automating tasks. 
• Define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.

• BA/BS in Computer Science or other IT related field and 10 Years of relevant work experience
• In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable
• U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q clearance
• Experience in scripting and comfortable with Python.

• Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 1-3 years

• Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies

• Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers and vendors

• Experience with Automation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1-3 years

• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Desired:

• Experience with containerization would be a huge plus. 

• Windows system administration experience at least 1-3 years

• Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions

• RHCE/CCNA

• Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating SysAdmin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes

• Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.

• Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience

• ESXI experience

• Experience working on and designing ground system architectures on US Govt Programs
