Overview

Edgewater is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pega Developer/Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Pega Systems, particularly in the context of software development and modernization. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing scalable Pega solutions to enhance software systems, drive modernization efforts, and align with organizational objectives. The candidate should possess both technical expertise and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in an agile environment, ensuring successful project delivery and modernization outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Architecture:
    • Develop and architect scalable, efficient Pega solutions that support software development and modernization initiatives.
    • Create comprehensive design documents, including detailed process flows, class structures, and application architectures that align with modern software development practices.
    • Ensure that Pega architectures are integrated seamlessly into the broader IT strategy and modernization goals, supporting the transition from legacy systems to modern platforms.
  • Development and Implementation:
    • Lead the full lifecycle development and implementation of Pega applications, ensuring smooth integration with both legacy and modern systems.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and business analysts, to gather and analyze requirements specific to software modernization projects.
    • Configure and customize Pega applications using PRPC (Pega Rules Process Commander), focusing on the development of process flows, activities, decision tables, and reporting tailored to modern software environments.
    • Apply deep hands-on experience in the PRPC lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and debugging, with a focus on Pega 7.x and 8.x in the context of modernization.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Provide expert-level guidance on PRPC integration with external systems, ensuring the seamless modernization of enterprise environments.
    • Utilize advanced knowledge in estimation, performance tuning, and deployment processes, particularly for initiatives focused on modernization.
    • Leverage experience with CICD tools and methodologies to streamline the adoption of Pega applications within agile software development and modernization frameworks.
    • Assist with Pega Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) processes, ensuring that all requirements are aligned with the goals of modernizing software solutions.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and mentor distributed development teams across various geographies, time zones, and cultures, ensuring the successful delivery of modernization projects.
    • Work in close collaboration with software developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that Pega solutions are fully aligned with modernization goals and business objectives.
    • Bring experience with Pega in the context of modern software disputes, digital transformation, or similar modernization projects to guide teams effectively.

Qualifications

  • Must be US Citizen and have ability to obtain HSPD-12 Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 5-7 years in Pega development and architecture, with expertise in PRPC 7.x and 8.x, and experience in software development or modernization projects.
  • Pega Certified System Architect (CSA).
  • Proficiency in Pega application design, integration, and lifecycle management, with familiarity in agile methodologies and CICD tools.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • 8-10 years in Pega development, focused on modernization or digital transformation projects.
  • Pega Certified Lead System Architect (LSA).
  • Advanced expertise in Pega integration, performance tuning, and deployment within enterprise environments, with knowledge of Pega DCO.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams and align Pega solutions with strategic goals.
