Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Linux System Admin III to perform task based and project based work.

Responsibilities

  • You will receive tasks from a variety of sources to include Email, IM, phone, ticketing systems and in person.
  • You will self-identify projects and also receive them from the customers.
  • You will perform server administration, software installs and configuration, hardware installs and configuration, software troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • You will work directly with RedHat Satellite. We use various methods to record work done (ticketing system, SharePoint, etc..)
  • Candidate will need the ability to partner with other IT teams such as corporate cyber security, firewall and proxy teams.
  • You will work directly with vendors to solve complex hardware and software issues.
  • All work will need to be performed onsite due to the nature of this work.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in CS or IT related field and two (2) years of IT experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, an additional 6 years of experience is applicable.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required per contract.
  • Must have an active DOE Q Clearance Minimum to start or DoD Top Secret with reciprocity.
  • Must live in the Albuquerque area and work onsite due to the nature of the work.
  • Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 2 years
  • RHEL system administration experience.
  • Familiarity with computer network protocols and network management technologies
  • Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades
  • Ability to define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
  • Ability to define technical standards and functionality tests, and to develop specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides.
  • Experience in customer service, good with communication skills with customers, vendors, and database administrators

Desired:

  • Prior working experience with Department of Energy or Department of Defense infrastructure
  • RHEL Satellite administration experience
  • STIGS implementation experience
  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Automation platforms such as Ansible, VmWare, Python at least 1-3 years
  • Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions
  • RHCE/CCNA
  • Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes
  • Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.
  • Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience
  • ESXI experience
